A Self-Watering Garden Bed 🌱

Provides optimal growing soil conditions whilst also giving you more freedom in the patch.

Wicking Garden Beds water from the bottom up. The garden bed has a water reservoir at the base, which contains rock and water, a GO fabric cloth layer and then the growing zone of healthy soil.

The water naturally rises from the reservoir into the soil providing consistent moisture. Resulting in very happy plants, flowers and veggies.

Every so often, the water reservoir is topped up as required down the fill pipe with a hose. Providing low maintenance gardening and watering.. which uses 80% less water then traditional raised garden beds ..

When dad first heard about Wicking Garden Beds in 2024, his innovative brain got excited.. and got to work designing his own built in water reservoir within our 80 year old corrugated iron garden beds..... dad and the team have established impressive processes and systems to provide our own Henley’s Rustics Wicking Bed.. using food grade materials in our rustic corrugated iron garden beds….

How we make our wicking garden beds

The garden beds are first made as a standard garden bed.. then prepped with an overflow pipe and then sealed onto a food grade tarp.

Wicking Day arrives.. the actioned packed event, is all hands on deck. The team swiftly bring the garden beds out to be polyurethane coated.. curing in seconds.

Followed by water proof testing and final water protective coating.

A kit is prepared of piping and GO fabric.. ready for delivery to our excited customers who have arranged their rock, soil and mulch ready for filling their wicking beds..
